Nomad on Four Paws

Many of you ask us whether you can bring your pets when you head off on an adventure in the regions.

The answer: YES ! Almost every time !

Sure, if you’re heading out for 2 weeks in the Îles de la Madeleine, in summer, right in the middle of construction holiday week, with 3 days’ notice…. it’ll be hard, even impossible, to find lodging that allows pets. You have to know that the tourist season in the Îles is planned up to 1 year in advance. The same holds true in the other regions.

Lodging is assigned in two ways.

Option 1: The health centre finds lodging for us. This option is sometimes imposed, other times optional, for purely economic reasons.

Option 2: The placement agency (so, us) takes care of finding your lodging. Obviously, that’s everyone’s favourite option, it lets us find beautiful places, sometimes apartments near the health centre, other times houses by the sea. We’re careful to note which of our owners allow pets. In the regions, we have to tell you that the owners are pretty easygoing, and we have a lovely bank of lodgings where it’s possible to house the whole family together.

Between you and me, I think there have been 1, maybe 2 times at most, where a work assignment in the region had to be cancelled because we couldn’t find lodging that allowed pets. Out of several hundred adventures over 3 years (yes, Agence Nomade is already 3 years old). We think our batting average is pretty excellent !

What’s really wonderful about Nomade is that Émilie and I personally take care of finding your lodging, since we ourselves are out in the regions. We have a ton of fun doing it, and over time we’ve come to know owners personally who only want to rent to our Nomades. One extra dog? No trouble! The whole family is welcome!

We don’t believe that being a pet parent should hold back your adventures. We ourselves have had our little cutie Enzo (who’s already so big !!) since the start of the year. We caught ourselves red-handed during our vacation in Mexico at the beginning of summer, looking at photos and videos of him every night because we missed him way too much.

We’ve just come back from a wonderful adventure on the Côte-Nord, and we found lodging that allowed a dog. I can tell you we were pretty happy to be able to live the stay with Enzo. That gives us one more contact for the next ones heading there!

Not convinced? Here are a few of the Nomade family’s animals!
